One Step Closer.....

It was back to the Travel Ministry today and we were a litttle worried about how the car ride would go. Waiting outside for Aruna everything was good.


This time she got in the car, a little subdued but nothing like the taxi yesterday! At the Ministry everything was going well apart from them needing copies of our passports and their copier was broken! I had to run out with Aruna's friend to find a place in town to copy. A minor issue and once we came back with the copies everything was good. We pick up her documents a week today!

Aruna very kindly took us into the center of Thamel (the main tourist area) so that we could see it and do some shopping - surprise, surprise!!


Rachana was tired after another long day and no nap so we headed back to the hotel. As soon as we were out of the car and back on "safe" ground for her she came right back out of her shell again. It was like she had to exhaust all that unspent energy in one go! We had dinner outside and then went for a walk around the grounds. Rachana was showing off her new purse made of local wool that we bought for her in Thamel


Writing this the power just went out and we can look out of our room to see the city mostly blacked out. For us it is a minor inconvenience for about thirty seconds as the Hotel has back up power, but for much of Kathmandu the power will be out now for twelve hours! This is a daily occurence and makes you realize how thankful we should be that at home we complain if we lose power for a few hours in a major storm!

    So I was talking to my sherpa the other day and he warned me you might encounter a rickshaw so look out!! Raya looks more comfortable, glad to see it. Call me the guru(of what?).

    How cute is her little voice!!
    It wont be long until shes copying sentences.
    So pleased that all the ministry patrerwork is finished and with Rachana settling more and more each day you can now relax and have fun in the sun.Wish I was out there with you and could give my little niece a kiss and cuddle.
