Woke up to a nicer day and were able to eat breakfast outside. After breakfast Rachana showed us that Hide and Seek is a universal game!
We took our first walk outside on our own today. There is a path that leads to the Stupa (Temple) from the back of our hotel. It was nice to be out and about. It was really busy being a holiday with lots of things to see. I think Rachana enjoyed it.
The plan was to swim when we got back, but as soon as we got her in her bathing suit it started raining again! Just wondering what to do when Donna (another US mom) called to see if we would like to meet them and another family for an early dinner. We jumped at the chance to get out of the hotel and meet others with children.
We ate outside at a small Japanese restaurant in Lazimpat, about half hour from our hotel. Really nice people and good to share some stories and realize the challenges are the same for everyone! The children were all very sweet, but didn't interact too much with one another. We managed to get them together towards the end for a photo!
This is Rachana, Laxmi and Tara Hisi. Tara Hisi and her mom live in Manhattan so hopefully we can keep in touch. I am sure we will keep in touch with a lot of the families going through this together!
Back to the clinic tomorrow for a check up and TB test results. Hoping for better weather for a quick swim before we go!
HI JUST GOT OFF THE SKYPE AND IT WAS GOOD TO SEE AND HEAR YOU TWO. GLAD THE TB TEST CAME BACK GOOD. SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAD FUN WITH THE OTHER FAMILIES. MISS YOU AND KISSES AND HUGS FROM ALL OF US, NANA, POP POP, AND CHARLIE
ReplyDeleteHi. Glad to hear you woke up to a better day but what a shame it rained just as you wre going to the pool.It must have been refreshing to get out of the hotel and be independant,
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well at the clinic tomorrow.

Looks like you are really connecting with her. The other children are adorable. Good luck with everything...you will be home really soon! Keep the faith! Love ya, Dave & Sandy
ReplyDeleteMick and Danielle, I'm so happy to see you guys with little Raya. You already seem like one happy family, and I'm assuming you haven't even reached the states yet (?). College throws me too far out of the loop. Any-who, I wish you guys all the best, and a safe return (if you haven't already) and I look forward to meeting Raya sometime in the future! I hope you are all doing well! Here's to Raya's future as an elite gymnast, or maybe just from pre-k to 5th grade...

ReplyDeleteFor Ray's birthday i am going to get her a Yak and a cow so she feels right at home. She is looking cuter and cuter as the days go by and she becomes more comfortable. I hope the paperwork goes well....Guru
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see that Raya is not camera shy! Her smile lights up a room!!!!! Can't wait to tickle her and make her laugh as much as we do!!!! Our family certainly knows how to have fun! She is BLESSED!!!! The most important thing, though, for the MAZZA family, is that she becomes a YANKEE fan, as soon as possible! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
ReplyDeleteLove from your favorite cousin in Naples Florida!
Just more beautiful pictures! Glad you are connecting with more families.

I just have to tell you that your brother Vincent is a real pip! I told him from now on I'm going to call him Uncle Guru!! I got a good laugh out of him. Cute pictures of the kids. Surprised they didn't interact more. Oh well, I guess it takes all of us to warm up to others.
ReplyDeleteLove to all,
