A Day of Ups and Downs

This morning Rachana decided it's time to go home. Thought she could save us a seat on the plane!

Now that she is finding her feet with us she is definitely starting to test the limits! Jekyll and Hyde is an understatement! From what we have researched and the experience of others that we know this is pretty much par for the course, but frustrating nonetheless!

Passed the day swimming and taking a long nap this afternoon. Then it was up, shower and ready for a walk into town to our new favorite restaurant!

We found a place in Boudha that has a nice garden and serves really good food - especially the momo's. Dinner for three and two glasses of wine for a lot less than the two glasses of wine at the Hyatt!

Resisted the temptation (?) for dessert on the way home. There are some things that are better left to the Hyatt!

Hoping tomorrow brings some positive news from the Embassy!

  2. Glad to hear that things are moving along. I have no doubt that you can handle anything Raya throws your way. With all of your kid experience there is nothing you haven't seen and through your kindness and patience have always turned it into a positive.

We are in Naples wishing you were here too. Can't wait for Raya to come to Naples. Maybe this summer. Love, sue and chris

  3. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you! Kids love to see what they can get away with. One thing you can be sure of, she knows she belongs with you or she wouldn't be putting you to the test. I'm sure things will go well tomorrow, I just have a good feeling.

    Love,
    Rosalie

  7. You didn't think she was going to be without ANY flaw, did you??? Just use your kindergarten skills and stick to your guns! Now's the time to let her know who's in charge! You will be great with her, Danielle. You were no pushover in kindergarten! Good luck tomorrow. I am off to Chicago to see my mom... hope to see you soon. Iva

  8. So as I type this here at 6:15 PM on Sunday I am hoping that your morning brings the best news! Your blog is so cool and the fact that you posted that she is testing you guys is awesome. She can test all she wants, little does she know she has two great parents who have had more practice than they could ever need. I am not surprised you guys have a favorite place with good food and drinks...and I am so happy you did because by now you would be so sick of eating bars morning, noon, and night :)

Good luck, everyone is thinking of you guys and wishing you the best! You will be home before you know it.

  9. Hey Guys, Sounds like everything is going well...welcome to the world of a 3 year old! As long as you and Mick stay united on the discipline plan and work together it will all be good. Believe me it pains us more as parents than it does the kids to be the heavy but it the long run it all works out. In the end you will have a child who has respect for you both as parents and respect for themselves! You guys are doing great keep it up :-) xoxo j, j &j
