Finally In Kathmandu!

Long and tiring wait in Doha but we finally boarded for Kathmandu - another overnight flight! Amazing views of the mountains from the plane coming in:

Finally on Nepali soil after 17 hours flying and 23 hours travelling:

Thankfully no problems with our visa or immigration, and our representative Aruna was at the airport to meet us. Very hectic getting out of the airport, thank goodness for Aruna! We rode with her husband through the crazy Kathmandu traffic and fifteen minutes later were at our hotel. Finally a bed and a shower! Great view from our room:

We won't be venturing far any time soon! Can't wait until Sunday when we we finally go to meet Rachana!

Arrived in Doha!

12 hours later and we are sitting in departures at Doha. Looks like any other airport in the world! Five hour wait now until we board for Kathmandu. By 10pm US time we will be there! A hotel bed and shower sounds great right now!

HERE WE GO ON A WILD RIDE!!

Today is the day-we are finally leaving! We think we have everything in our five very full suitcases!

They told us to pack light!!!

When you all go to bed on Thursday night we will be in Kathmandu completely exhausted! We are sitting in JFK having a glass of wine thinking how weird it is to be flying to Kathmandu!!!! We will try to post from Doha so you know how our 12 hour flight was YUCK!

ANOTHER BUMP IN THE ROAD

We had to reschedule our trip until next Wednesday!  The ministry has informed us that they will be closed until April 9th.  No handing over ceremonies can take place during this time which means no adoptions can be completed!!  We are very disappointed and frustrated!!!

And The Adventure Begins..............

Finally, the day we had been waiting for. Thursday, March 10, 2011 - The email with our approval to bring Rachana home arrived in the morning. What a crazy, emotional day!
